WWE SummerSlam 2021: Randy Orton has been one of the most notorious absences in the return of WWE to the tours with the public.

Since he was defeated by John Morrison on June 21, “The Viper” has been missing from the cameras despite being for the following shows.

He was scheduled to make his appearance on the last episode of Monday Night Raw. But plans apparently changed and nothing was heard from the fighter.

In the last hours, Dave Meltzer, a journalist for Wrestling Observer. He has pointed out that the original plan for Randy Orton at SummerSlam was to team up with Riddle to face AJ Styles and Omos in a match for the Red Brand Tag Team Championship.

“AJ Styles and Omos vs. Riddle and Randy Orton was planned for SummerSlam. But Orton is still out and the reason for his absence has been kept under wraps,” Meltzer wrote in the Wrestling Observer weekly newsletter.

The SummerSlam card already has 6 bouts announced. One more fight is scheduled to be announced. Apollo Crews is rumored to defend the United States Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura. While Sheamus is scheduled to defend the United States title against Damian Priest.

There is also talk of Drew McIntyre vs. Jinder Mahal. Who will almost certainly have their PPV match.
