Afghanistan Cricket Crises: Even though the Taliban has assured the Afghanistan Cricket Board that it will not interfere in the country’s cricket.

But the Afghan cricketers are not believing it. He is scared about the future of cricket in the country. A day earlier, the Taliban had appointed the new chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board.

However, still the players are apprehensive. Recently, Afghanistan fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq talked about the condition of fellow players.  He said that there is still a fear in the minds of the players about the Taliban.

Haq said in an interview to BBC Radio that people in Afghanistan love cricket and it is the only thing that allows them to be happy together.

However, under the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, the future of the game is in danger.  He said that the fear about the Taliban is clearly visible in the eyes of the players, in their voices and in their messages. The Taliban may have said that they will not harass the players. But no one knows what will happen next.

Cricket not just a game in Afghanistan: Haque

This fast bowler further said that if you get good news, you see people celebrating together, then cricket is the only means of it. This is so important for Afghanistan. Cricket is not just a game for this country, it is more than that.  Haq is currently in West Indies.  He will participate in the Caribbean Premier League for Guyana Amazon Warriors.

‘Difficult to focus on cricket in current conditions’

Even though the Afghanistan Cricket Board has expressed confidence that the series against Pakistan to be held in September will be according to the schedule.

However, for Haque, the current situation in the country has affected his game. It is difficult for him to focus on his game in the current situation. This fast bowler, who took part in CPL, said that it is difficult for me to say that I will be able to concentrate only on cricket.

‘Can’t forget what is going on in the country’

Haq said that you can forget about what is going on in the country for a minute or two to focus on cricket. But then, the same mind starts running in your mind.

I can’t say that I will focus solely on playing cricket. Because when you see your country in this condition, you cannot do that.  Let us tell you that Afghanistan has to play a series of 3 ODIs against Pakistan next month.  Due to security reasons, this series will be held in Sri Lanka.
