Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to miss Europa League clash against Manchester United following an adductor injury

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic injured his left thigh muscle in a match against AS Roma in the Italian League top caste competition, Serie A 2020-2021, last weekend.

In the match which ended in a 2-1 win for AC Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic was pulled off in the 56th minute.

As reported by the Italian Football website, a temporary estimate of the impact of the injury means Zlatan Ibrahimovic will miss four matches in the next two weeks.

Including the first leg of the Europa League last 16 against Manchester United at Old Trafford Stadium on March 11.

The three other matches that the 39-year-old attacker likely missed are Serie A continued matches, namely against Udinese (3/3/2021), Hellas Verona (7/3/2021), and Napoli (14/3/2021).

Ibrahimovic’s injury condition will be closely monitored for the next 10 days to determine the rehabilitation steps and the estimated recovery time for the player.

This is the fourth time the Swede has suffered an injury throughout the 2020-2021 season.

Previously, Ibrahimovic had been absent several times from the Milan dressing room due to injuries to his calf, leg muscles and corona virus infection.

However, these fitness constraints did not prevent him from contributing 14 goals from 14 appearances in Milan’s uniform in the Serie A event this season.

This amount is the largest compared to other members of the Milan squad.

Milan also lost midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu to injury in the match against Roma.

Hakan Calhanoglu’s injury problem occurred in an area similar to that of Ibrahimovic, namely the flexor muscle in the left thigh.

It’s just that, Calhanoglu’s injury can recover relatively quickly and the player is predicted to return to play against Verona on March 7.
