Ex-PSG player, Kingsley Coman scored the sole goal and winner for the Bavarian side to ensure a lead going into the 2nd leg at the Allianz Arena.

This was a massive result for both sides but particularly for PSG, as they have lost their 5th match of the year across competition.

Such was the performance from the French side particularly in the 1st half, that PSG looked the visiting rather than the home side.

Bayern was all over the French side in the contest and did not let them get any sort of free space to move or create opportunities.

The Bavarians won the duals in the centre of the park alongside the attacking 3rd, rendering PSG listless in the contest.

Mbappe had an effort chalked out in the 2nd half which was the equalizer as it was off side. But apart from this, PSG were listless and did not look the home side.

With a 4th loss in 11 matches during this year across competitions, Paris are in a bit of a hole from which getting out is a difficult ask.

The ex-Barcelona teammates, Neymar and Messi had rather forgettable nights in the 1st leg clash last night.

Neymar, Messi were expected to lead the line with Mbappe’s absence  but could not muster it was not the case. There was large times where the two players were seen walking on the pitch.

Half-Fit Mbappe a threat

Mbappe was supposed to miss this clash owing to an injury picked up against Montpellier earlier this month.

However, Mbappe managed to start from the bench and was called in just before the hour-mark.

He grew into the game and was threatening even while carrying the injury. Such was the urgency from Galtier to get his main man on to ensure recovery.

The Frenchman had 2 goals chalked off, one of which due to the most marginal of offsides.

One thing is for sure, if Mbappe attains full fitness for the 2nd leg, PSG will be a massive threat on the counter and will do all out for the win in Munich.
