Three Reasons why Bayern Munich is failing to dominate the Bundesliga in 2022; check out

Bayern Munich in 2022: Bayern Munich hasn’t begun their Bundesliga 2022-23 season as expected with the Bavarians currently in 5th place with 12 points.

This would be an extremely surprising turn of events given how dominant Bayern Munich has been in the Bundesliga in the past decade.

The German side began this season in search of a 11th successive Bundesliga crown but have faltered in their pursuit.

After an excellent start to the season in August with 3 wins; Bayern Munich haven’t won a single league match. Rather they have drawn 3 and lost 1 of their last 4 in the Bundesliga.

We see the reasons why Bayern Munich has failed to dominate the Bundesliga 2022 like they had done in the previous decade.

Although Bayern has been dominant in matches in terms of shots on goal and possession, very rarely have they been able to turn into wins since August.

It all began with a draw with Monchengladbach followed by successive points a-piece against Union Berlin and Stuttgart.

Sadio Mané was their recent acquisition in the summer following Lewandowski’s departure to Barcelona.

The Munich faithful wouldn’t have expected Sadio Mané to start in an inconsistent manner in the new league.

In 7 matches, Mané has found the net thrice and is also goalless in the last 5 matches across competitions.

The Senegalese was expected to continue from where Robert left, but it hasn’t been the same.

Munich have not seen consistency in finding the net from the new center-forward. Hence, the questions have erupted over whether Mané being the perfect replacement for Lewandowski.

Sluggishness

Bayern Munich these days don’t seem good enough to carry a lead into half-time. In recent games, they have conceded way to quickly and aren’t at their fluent best.

The likes of Sané, Gnabry aren’t playing to their best and have resulted in being sluggish. The Bavarians have been punished late on in the game as well against Stuttgart, where they conceded a late penalty to ensure a draw.

This sort of laziness and sluggish attitude has costed Bayern already as they are five points off the pace.

Union Berlin is the surprise team at the top and will hope to end the decade of dominance from Bayern Munich.

Coman’s injury

ImageKingsley Coman’s was injured in early September and has managed just 3 matches this season in which he scored once and assisted 2 goals.

Such has been the importance of the versatile mid-fielder cum winger. His pace and quality down the flank have been missing due to which Bayern is struggling for momentum.

Coman has the ability to drag players out of position and create space down the wings, but his absence has left a void for Bayern to fill.

Now with the international break, Bayern hope to use this time and ensure they have their top players back into the squad on return.

Bayern haven’t been tested in 10 seasons like they are this time and will want to get back to where they belong.

With surprise contenders in Union Berlin, Dortmund occupying the top spots; Naglesmann’s team have a job on their hands.
