5 oldest NBA players who have not won MVP, Check Names

NBA MVP List: To win the MVP award in the NBA is one of the prestigious honors from the regular season.

To think that some true NBA legends will retire or have retired from the game with far fewer career accolades than they deserve is a bummer.

Below is the list of the five oldest NBA players who never received the MVPs in the league’s history.

1. Chris Paul

  • Prime-10 seasons: 19.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 10.2 apg, 2.3 spg, 0.1 bpg, 48% fg, 38% 3 pt, 87% ft
  • Finish: 2nd (2008)

In 2008, Kobe Bryant was awarded as the MVP. while Chris Paul put together one of the greatest seasons ever as a point guard.

CP3 who is currently playing for Phoenix Suns is undoubtedly one of the greatest competitors ever and comes in each year prepared to lead his team to the playoffs (which he almost always does, this year. He has led his team to the second round of the playoffs ).

This man deserves an MVP. Although, at this point in his career Chris is chasing something far more important to him; a ring. This just shows his dedication to winning as a team player which is a massive aspect of basketball.

2. Scottie Pippen

  • Prime-6 seasons : 20.4 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 5.9 apg, 2.2 spg, 0.9 bpg, 48% fg, 34% 3 pt, 70% ft
  • Finish: 3rd (1994)

Scottie Pippen has played in the same team as Michael Jordan. Expecting him to win an MVP while having MJ on the lead would have been very difficult.

However, Scottie is considered one of the most underrated and MVP-caliber players. During the Bulls’ dominance in the 90s, Pippen had averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists. Scottie is also considered as one of the best perimeter defenders in history, often drawing the assignment of the opposing team’s best player.

He may not have won an MVP. But one should also know that without Pippen, MJ wouldn’t have won the 6 rings.

3. Dwyane Wade

  • Prime-6 seasons: 27.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.9 spg, 1.1 bpg, 49% fg, 29% 3 pt, 77% ft
  • Finish: 3rd (2009)

Wade went down in the latter stages of his career because of the injuries. He has won the NBA Championship. Including one of the greatest Finals performances ever in 2006. Wade retired as one of the greatest players ever to not win the MVP award.

4. Carmelo Anthony

  • Prime-8 seasons: 26.3 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.1 spg, 0.5 bpg, 46% fg, 36% 3 pt, 82% ft
  • Finish: 3rd (2012-13)

Carmelo Anthony was one of the lethal players. An NBA All-star player 10 times was one of the capable offensive players to win the MVP.

Back in his Denver Nuggets days, Carmelo was arguably the best scorer around. He regularly led the Nuggets to 50 wins and he took them to the Conference Finals back in 2009.

5. Tracy McGrady

  • Prime-5 seasons: 26. ppg, 5.7 rpg, 4.4 apg, 1.2 spg, 0.9 bpg, 43.5% fg, 33.8% 3 pt, 74.6% ft
  • Finish: 4th (2002 and 2003)

Tracy McGrady used to be recognized as one of the league’s top scorers while also being an everlasting MVP candidate. During his time with the Orlando Magic, McGrady was a productive scorer who produced on offense from just about anywhere within half-court. He would finish in the top ten in MVP voting for six seasons.
