Thomas Tuchel Digdaya

This victory extended Thomas Tuchel’s slick record against Real Madrid.  Tuchel has never lost against the Spanish giants.

The victory over Real Madrid also made Tuchel write new history.  He became the first coach in Champions League history to reach successive finals with different clubs.

Dominant Kante

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante did not score a goal or assist in this match.  However, his appearance also deserves a lot of praise.

Kante appeared dominant for 90 minutes against Real Madrid.  He was everywhere, breaking the flow of Los Blancos’ attack and also being directly involved in both Chelsea goals.

In total, the French midfielder won the duel 100 percent, made four interceptions and created three key passes. As a result, Kante was chosen to be the man of the match in this match.

Eden Hazard Still Disappointing

Tonight should be a special night for Eden Hazard.  He returned to Stamford Bridge after joining Real Madrid.

However, Hazard failed to make a difference in this match.  Playing as a starter, Hazard did not threaten the Chelsea defense much and only fired one shot. The Belgian star was then pulled out in the 89th minute.  His position was replaced by Mariano Diaz.
