Chelsea win UCL 2021: Chelsea win the UCL 2020-21 for the second time in their history as they beat Manchester City 1-0 in Porto.
The Blues scripted history as they repeated the heroics of 2012 to win their 2nd UEFA Champions League title.
Kai Havertz scored the only goal in the first half as Chelsea won their 2nd UCL title.
FIRST HALF
Manchester City got the match underway and created a high tempo from minute one. Chelsea used the pace of Werner to create difficult for Man City’s defence.
Werner was able to cling on and utilize his pace against Stones. He had a wonderful chance to opened the scoring early on but scuffed his chance.
City were not able to thread the Chelsea defence even though they had more possession. Meanwhile, the Blues were getting stretched on the odd occasions.
Recee James, Jorginho, Kanté were able to nullify the creative team of City. The likes of De Bruyne and Mahrez were being nullified well.
Rüdiger made a crucial intervention and blocked Foden’s shot on goal.
It was end-to end stuff with a good tempo to the game. As the half progressed, the chances for a goal looked more.

Eventually, Chelsea drew first blood as Kai Havertz broke the deadlock in the 41st minute.
A delicious through ball by Werner released Havertz. Ederson rushed out and committed himself.
The German knocked it past him before sliding into an empty net for 1-0.
Tuchel’s plans were taking effect. Meanwhile, Pep’s side were being over-run in mid-field.
City did not start with a centre forward and lacked the pressing runs which could have put Chelsea’s defence in trouble.
At Half time, Chelsea had the crucial goal and advantage of 1-0.
SECOND HALF
Chelsea began the second half and were soon penned back into their own half as City made a bright start.
The Blues needed to defend well as City were primed to strike soon with the title on the line.
Pep had to see De Bruyne get subbed off early on after he felt the after-effects of a collision with Rüdiger.
Man City were not as composed on the ball as they usually are and could not cause trouble.
