Daniil Medvedev breaks into Quarterfinal of French Open 2021, will face Tsitsipas.

Russian Daniil Medvedev, number two in the world, continues to surprise and play the fine on the clay of Roland Garros.

This Sunday Medvedev dispatched specialist Cristian Garín, 23rd place, to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam.

Medvedev defeated the opponent avenging a defeat weeks ago in Madrid, Spain, scoring 3 sets to 0 with partials of 6/2 6/1 7/5 after 07:34 PM IST on Suzanne Lenglen court, the second main of the tournament.

Medvedev vs Tsitsipas for Quarterfinal 

Medvedev had never won a single French Open match in four previous appearances and now has his fourth victory in the event.

 He keeps dreaming of the number 1 in the world that he will come if he makes the final. And Novak Djokovic falls to the semi or if he wins the title over the Serb.

On Tuesday, he will face Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, fifth in the world and best of the season. Tsitsipas passed in straight sets by Spaniard Pablo Carreño, 12th place. In direct confrontation there are six victories for Medvedev in seven matches, one of them on clay in Monte Carlo.

Tsitsipas beat Monte Carlo, was runner-up in Barcelona and champion also in Lyon, France. Medvedev in Grand Slams is doing well with Australian Open final defeating Tsitsipas in semifinal.

Medvedev scored two breaks in each set with 100% use in the first set. In the third he felt physical discomfort, asked for assistance, took a break and was 3-0 under. But soon returned, tied for 3-3 and with fantastic rights in the parallel broke to close the game with another parallel winning by 7/5.

There were 46 winning balls from the Russian and 32 unbudgeted errors. Garin missed 29 and applied only eleven winners.
