Denver Nuggets clinch 4-2 NBA Series Win over Blazers, will face Phoenix Suns in Semi-final

NBA Playoffs Semi-final: The Denver Nuggets have eliminated the Portland Trail Blazers and have advanced to the NBA playoffs semi-final.

On Friday, the Nuggets ended the series with a 126-115 win in Portland. Out of the 6 games that were played, the Nuggets won 4.

The third-seeded Nuggets will now play against the Phoenix Suns. Denver was one of the few teams the Suns did not have a winning record against in the regular season. Due to the dynamics of the regular season schedule in the middle of a pandemic, Phoenix played all three of its games against the Nuggets in January, including back-to-back at home.

After Jamal Murray, the Nugget’s second-leading scorer and starting point guard tore his ACL in mid-April and went out for the rest of the season it was a question mark on the Nuggets if they could even make it to the playoffs.

But the Nuggets who are led by MVP favorite Nikola Jokic. Who after the loss of his teammate had stated “We’re going to miss Murray as a team. He’s a big part of our team. But that doesn’t mean we’re going to quit.” This proves that Nikola was prepared to elevate his game in yet another category — leadership.

Nikola has averaged 26.4 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game. While shooting 56.6% from the field and 38.8% at three-point range. He scored 36 points, followed by Michael Porter Jr. with 26 points and Monte Morris with 22 points in Game 6.

Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard who had once in a lifetime game against the Nuggets in Game 5, appeared to smash them with 55 points but all went in vain, and in the Time-out the Nuggets took a lead over them. He seemed to have run out of gas in Game 6. After his Game 5 heroics, he could only score 23 points in the first three quarters.

In fact, NBA players voted Lillard as the teammate of the year – whose leadership has shined for years – Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year.

After the win over the blazers, Nikola will now have to face the Phoenix star, Devin Booker. Who has managed to cook the Lakers magnificently in this series will have to face.
