EPL Result: Diego Jota scores as Liverpool win 1-0 against Wolverhampton Wanderers, move to sixth in the points table

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Liverpool: Liverpool finally got back to winning ways after losing their last two in the league with a 1-0 win at the Molineux against Wolverhampton Wanderers courtesy a 45^th minute strike from the former Wolves player, Diego Jota to seal the points.

The home side made a bright side to the game by starting on a positive note. Traoré was wasteful with the opportunities presented to him while Neves too missed his chances.

Allison had a tester as he saved Semedo’s strike while Mane was not at his fluent best.

But it was the former Wolves man, Jota who opened the scoring for the away side as his shot was palmed into the corner by Rui Patricio- who would be disappointed that he could not keep it out – to make it 1-0.

Coady had a massive chance to equalize in the second half but he headed over from six yards out. Traoré tested Allison once again but he was up to the task to deny him.

Salah had the opportunity to put the game to bed but his tame effort was tipped away from goal by Patricio.

A head injury for Patricio right at the death put a dampener on proceedings following a clash with Coady post which he needed to be taken off on a stretcher.

Ruddy replaced him at goal and nearly conceded right at the end but Salah hit his shot well wide to end proceedings.

Wolverhampton Wanderers would be disappointed that they were not able to earn anything from the contest with the number of chances they had against their opponents tonight.

This result means that Liverpool have moved to 6^th on the points table while Wolves stay in 13^th.
