Crystal Palace struck back right at the end of extra time in the first half when Benteke rose highest to Milivojevic’s cross and headed home. The goal came out of nowhere and against the run of play as the first half ended.
In the second half, it was within the first ten minutes that Spurs took complete control of the match.
Firstly, it was Bale who made it 2-1 in the 49th minute when Kane nodded the ball across the six-yard box for the Welshman to head home. This time it was Reguilon who started the move by firing a cross into the far post for Kane.

Spurs were rampant and the combination of Bale-Kane-Son seems to be working wonders for Jose Mourinho.
Reguilon had a chance to make it five but he could only manage the side-netting.
Zaha, on his return to first team action came very close to scoring but could only see his shot cannon off the woodwork but otherwise offered very little going forward.
ImageThe hosts were simply the better of the two teams today and Jose Mourinho will now look to create some momentum and go on a winning run as Tottenham have won three on the bounce.
Harry Kane with a brace of goals and assists was the player of the match undoubtedly.
This win gets Tottenham to sixth in the table with 45 points while Palace remain 13th in the table.
