Donny Van De Beek Injury: European Football Championship 2020 National coach Frank de Boer is not calling for a replacement for the 24-year-old midfielder, as a result of which the Orange selection now consists of 25 players.

Van de Beek has so far played nineteen international matches for the Dutch national team. He last played on behalf of the Orange squad during the World Cup qualifier against Gibraltar (7-0).

Injury before the Start of Tournament

In the run-up to the European Championship, the Manchester United player sat on the bench for 90 minutes during the exhibition game with Scotland last Wednesday. While he was left out of the match selection against Georgia last Sunday and watched from the stands. It is unclear whether this was related to his injury.

Earlier, intended first goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen already dropped out for the European Championship selection for Orange.

He tested positive for corona just before the training camp in Portugal. After which De Boer decided not to take him to the European Championship.

Marco Bizot was called up as his replacement. Because no new player will replace Van de Beek. The selection of the Dutch national team now consists of 25 players.
