Andrés Guardado once again skippers the Mexican international team for the World Cup 2022, which will be his 4th FIFA World Cup for the nation.

Mexico announced their 26-man squad for the FIFA WC 2022 as follows:

Goalkeepers: Guillermo Ochoa, Rodolfo Cota and Alfredo Talavera

Defenders: Nestor Araujo, Jesus Gallardo, Gerardo Arteaga, Hector Moreno, Jorge Sanchez, Johan Vazquez, Cesar Montes and Kevin Alvarez

Midfielders: Erick Gutierrez, Orbelin Pineda, Hector Herrera, Carlos Rodriguez, Andres Guardado (C), Roberto Alvarado, Edson Alvarez, Luis Chavez, Uriel Antuna and Luis Romo

Forwards: Hirving Lozano, Rogelio Funes Mori, Henry Martin, Raul Jimenez and Alexis Vega

The Tricolor have been a part of each World Cup since 1994 and consistently fallen away at the Round of 16 stage.

This has become a hoodoo for the Mexican team and they hope to progress past this stage.
