Finland Euro 2020: Finland are one of the debutants in this edition of the UEFA Euro 2020 after securing the 2^nd spot in the qualifying group.

The Eagle-owls are in Group B along with Denmark, Belgium and Russia.

Markku Kanerva helped Finland achieve world football status as Finland set foot in their maiden Euro finals in the summer.

Tim Sparv is named the captain of the Finland side while Lukas Hradecky stands in as vice-captain.

The 26-man squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Lukas Hradecky (Vice-Captain), Anssi Jaakkola, Jesse Joronen.

Defenders: Paulus Arajuuri, Robert Ivanov, Thomas Lam, Daniel O’Shaughnessy, Jukka Raitala, Joona Toivio, Jere Uronen, Nicholas Hämäläinen, Sauli Väisänen.

Midfielders: Nikolai Alho, Fredrik Jensen, Glen Kamara, Joni Kauko, Robin Lod, Rasmus Schüller, Pyry Soiri, Tim Sparv (Captain), Robert Taylor and Onni Valakari.

Forwards: Marcus Forss, Lassi Lappalainen, Joel Pohjanpolo and Teemu Pukki.

Overview

Finland makes their debut in this edition of the UEFA European Championships and would look to make it a memorable one.

Their captain, Tim Sparv is the most experienced player in the squad as he holds 81 caps for Finland and would look to get all that experience to help Finland in their maiden continental event.

The likes of Pukki, Pohjanpolo and Forss come a good striking force for the Eagle-owls after their recent shows in the domestic leagues.

Finland packs a line-up which poses good attacking and experienced campaigners and would look to create trouble for all oppositions they come up against.

The Kanerva led side must not out themselves under pressure and play the tournament freely. This could very well help them play to their potential.
