England 2-1 Denmark: England reached their maiden Euro finals as they beat Denmark 2-1 at the Wembley Stadium on Thursday and will face Italy in the mega final.
Simon Kjær’s own goal and Kane’s penalty was enough for the Three Lions victory. Damsgaard scored a thunderbolt of a freekick but his efforts went in vain.
FIRST HALF
Denmark kicked off the first half but were soon on the backfoot as England pressed high up the pitch.
It was an edgy start for the Danes but they soon got themselves into the game with an important spell of possession.
Sterling had the first attempt on goal but scuffed his tame effort straight at Schmeichel.
Damsgaard broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with a peach of a strike to make it 1-0 to the visitors.
The midfielder thundered in a free-kick which curled, dipped and travelled past Pickford as England conceded for the 1st time in the Euro 2020.
It was a strike of purity as the Sampdoria youngster fired home.
The men in Red were soon put under the pump as Schmeichel produced a brilliant save to deny Sterling from close range.
England continued to threaten and found their equalizer in the next minute for 1-1.
It was an unfortunate moment for Kjær as he put the ball into his own net in an attempt to keep it away from goal.
This was the last action of an engaging first half with the score 1-1.

SECOND HALF
England started off the second half in quicker fashion and were brighter.
Schmeichel made the first big save of the second half as he did extremely well to deny Maguire’s header, which took a minor deflection on its way to goal.
Whereas, Pickford was on point to deny Kasper Dolberg.
As the half progressed, The Three Lions pinned Denmark into their half and consistently probed in the final third.
Kjær and Co held firm in their own box and withstood the England juggernaut.
They defended brilliantly and did not let England pass through.
It remained all square at full time as we proceeded to extra time.
EXTRA TIME
The English side continued to threaten and had Schmeichel make another crucial save off Kane.
Sterling was fouled in the box and the Three Lions were awarded a penalty.
Kane’s initial kick was saved by the Denmark keeper but he scored on the rebound and made it 2-1.
Denmark kept going at the home side but could not find the telling touch as the game finished
With this, The Three Lions secured their maiden Euro final and will face Italy for the Henri Delaunay Trophy on July 11th.
The Danes were resilient and left the Euro 2020 with their pride intact.
