Barcelona was left frustrated at home once again as they drew against Cádiz 1-1. Lionel Messi marked his 506th appearance for Barcelona in the La Liga with a spot kick following by a foul on Pedri; surpassing Xavi, who had 505 appearances in the league during his tenure at the club.
Cádiz made it 1-1 courtesy an Alex Fernandes penalty due to Lenglet fouling Sobrino in the box. This was their only shot on target.
Barcelona had many chances to wrap up the contest but were not able to do so due to their rustiness which was visible on the field of play today. The home side has 20 shots out of which only four were on target.
They now stand on 3rd position with 47 points trailing leaders Atletico Madrid by 8 points and Los Blancos by 5 points.
Barcelona play Eiche at home in their next fixture on Wednesday while Cádiz too have a home fixture against Real Betis on Sunday.
