Liverpool needs a win to provide confidence ahead of the new season and this could be the fixture which can help them kickstart.
On the other hand, Mainz returned to pre-season against Wurzburger Kickers where they won 2-1.
Goals from Juste and Boetius was enough for the victory. Sane scored for the Kickers but it was a mere consolation effort.
