Most UCL Final losses: Picking up the UEFA Champions League is the ultimate dream for many European teams as it signifies dominance and desire.
However, just like all finals one team wins while the other see heartbreak. Just like that, it all vanishes into thin air once you come second in the big game.

Atletico Madrid

Atletico Madrid have reached the final twice and lost on both occasions. During the 2013-14 and 2015-16 seasons, Atletico came up short against Real Madrid in the competition’s final.
A 4-1 defeat in 2014 was doubled by a loss on penalties in 2016 as Atletico Madrid saw their dream of a first UEFA Champions League title come to a halt.
Manchester United

The Red Devils are next in line having lost 2 UEFA Champions League finals as well.
Manchester United faced Barcelona on both occasions in 2008-09 and 2010-11, when they came up short.

A 2-0 loss in Rome resulted in a first loss for Sir Alex’s men before his team were convincingly beaten at Wembley 2 seasons later by a 3-1 margin.
On both occasions, Lionel Messi inflicted wounds on the English side as he found the net twice across the two matches.
AC Milan
AC Milan is another side that hasn’t really got a strong foot in UCL finals, losing 3 of them.
The 1992-93, 1994-95 and most famously 2004-05 seasons were heart-breaking for Milan as they lost to Marseille, Ajax and Liverpool.
In the first 2 finals, it was a 1-0 defeat but the most unexpected loss was in 2005 when they lost on penalties to Liverpool after conceding a 3-0 lead.
Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich like AC Milan has lost 3 UEFA Champions League finals against Manchester United, Inter Milan and Chelsea.
In 1998-99, the Bavarian side lost 2-1 to the Red Devils followed by a 2-0 loss to Inter in 2009-10.
But the most hurtful loss for Bayern fans was the 2011-12 one, where Chelsea beat the German club on penalties in the final to lift their first ever UCL title.
Juventus

At the top of the unfortunate heap is Juventus, who have lost a record 5 UEFA Champions League finals in their history.
Juventus have borne the brunt of not being able to cross the final hurdle which has seen them miss out on 5 UCL titles.

The Bienconeri lost to Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid in 1996-97 and 1997-98 before succumbing to Milan (2003), Barcelona (2015) and Real Madrid (2017) once again to complete the list.
