Paraguay eyes a return to winning ways when they host Venezuela in their next World Cup Qualification fixture on Friday.

The home side were held to a 1-1 draw in their last match against Colombia with Sanabria’s strike being cancelled out by Cuadrado in the second half to ensure a point a piece.

This was Paraguay 4th match in a row where they haven’t been able to win. Hence, this becomes an important clash for them.

Venezuela were beaten 1-0 by Peru in their last match as Cueva’s first half strike made the difference.

The visitors are already under pressure and another loss in all certainty knocks them out of the campaign.

With all the pressure on them, this is a do-or die situation at hand.

Both sides last met in the reverse fixture last yea where Paraguay won 1-0 through Gimenez’s goal five minutes from time.
