Rhea Ripley retains WWE Raw Women’s title, beats Charlotte & Asuka at Wrestlemania Backlash.

WWE Wrestlemania Backlash: During the WrestleMania Backlash broadcasts via WWE Network and Peacock. Rhea Ripley managed to retain the RAW Women’s Championship after defeating Asuka and Charlotte Flair in a triple threat.

This was the first pay-per-view match of the day.  Unintentionally, Rhea and Asuka began the fight with various keys against “The Queen”.

From there, the three women engaged in a very even physical exchange.  In the final moments, Asuka fell with a kick from Flair, but received the champion’s Riptide for the latter to score the count of three.

Thus, Rhea Ripley retains the RAW Women’s Championship in her first title defense on PPV.  “The Brutality” won the women’s title 35 days ago on the second night of WrestleMania 37.

In one of the last matches of the day on April 11, Ripley managed to defeat Asuka to obtain her first championship in the main WWE roster.

Charlotte Flair asked WWE management for an opportunity

Just hours after announcing the rematch of the RAW women’s title match at WrestleMania. WWE announced a last-minute change to this matchup.

After defeating Dana Brooke, Charlotte Flair asked Sonya Deville for a starting shot.  The WWE commissioner again took advantage of her authority in favor of “The Queen”, adding her to the match at WrestleMania Backlash to the discontent of her rivals.
