Senegal 3-1 Qatar: Senegal beat Qatar 3-1 on Friday as goals from Dia, Diedhiou and Dieng ensured a first win of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Group A.

FIRST HALF
Senegal got the ball rolling in the 1st half and were on top throughout.
The experience and quickness of the African side was visible as Qatar were not able to keep them out on a consistent basis.
It was only in the 41st minute that their defence was breached when Dia scored the opener.
Khoukhi’s defensive error helped the ball fall kindly at Dia’s foot before he rolled home for 1-0.
Senegal struggled early on before got the goal before the half ended to go into the break with confidence.
SECOND HALF
It was just the perfect start in the 2nd half as Diedhiou found the back of the net with a flicked header for 2-0. The forward ran to the near post and headed home with finesse from Jakobs’ cross.
Qatar nearly found the net on the other hand but for a fantastic reflex save from Mendy. The Senegal goalkeeper was called in again to deny Qatar another opportunity.
This small spell of possession gave the hosts the confidence whereby they pulled one back through Muntari.
The forward spotted Mohammad’s cross and thumped his header past Mendy to give Qatar a renewed sense of hope.
