Serie A news: José Mourinho appointed head coach of Roma from next season, check out


José Mourinho has been appointed as head coach of AS Roma from 2021-22 onwards. The Portuguese has penned a three-year deal with the Italian club.
The Portuguese will replace Paulo Fonseca, who will leave the club at the end of the season.

The club announced:

Mourinho returns to Serie A, where he gained massive recognition after leading Inter Milan to a treble in the 2009-10 season.
The four-time World’s best Club coach had stints at Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Porto apart from Inter Milan.
The Portuguese has won 2 Champions League titles with Inter and Porto respectively.
ImageMourinho has won 33 trophies in his glittering career which includes domestic league titles for Chelsea, Inter, Porto and Real Madrid.
José Mourinho is one of only three managers to have won the Champions League with 2 different clubs.
He has won the Premier League trophy three times and the La Liga once.
Apart from these, he has consistently won cup competitions in every country.
AS Roma are currently seventh in the Serie A, 14 points off the Champions League qualification positions. T
The Italian side represents the 10th club Mourinho has managed in his career.
AS Roma hopes to see Mourinho take the club to greater heights from the start of 2021-22 season.
Roma’s next match is the 2nd leg of the Europa League semi-finals where they trail Manchester United 6-2.
The Italian side are hoping to complete a turnaround and finish the season on a high.
