On the Night 2 of the Wrestlemania 37th, Riddle defended his United States Championship against Sheamus. This was the Celtic Warrior’s last shot at redeeming his lost image after he lost twice to Drew McIntyre.
Sheamus challenged McIntyre for the WWE Championship and lost two times in a row against the Scottish Warrior. Sheamus then realized that to reframe his image, he needed to add a title to his bout. That is why, Sheamus got into a feud with Riddle and got a match for the United States Championship.
Throughout the match, both the superstars went on toe to toe against each other. Sheamus capitalized with his slams while Riddle capitalized with his high flying moves. We also witnessed some high flying moves from the Celtic Warrior’s end.
Towards the end of the match while Riddle tried his flying moonsault onto Sheamus, Riddle instead got a Brogue Kick. Sheamus shocked the WWE Universe by landing his finisher in such an unexpected way. The Brogue Kick resulted in bleeding for Riddle.
The Celtic Warrior then went for the pinfall and became the new WWE United States Champion.
