WWE Smackdown Preview: The final steps toward FastLane take center stage tonight for the Blue Brand. Tonight has a few events on tap, including some segments involving some WrestleMania storylines and FastLane opponents. Let’s preview it:

FastLane Contract Signing:

The big event for tonight’s show is the official contract signing for the Universal Championship Match at FastLane between Daniel Bryan and champion Roman Reigns. If past events give us any insight, there’s some real doubt a real contract signing actually happening. Roman, with Paul Heyman, has found some ways to scheme his way out of signing contacts, so who know how this one will work. What we can guarantee is that there will be some sort of chaos, whether it’ from these two, Jey Uso, or even Edge.

The KO Show is Back:

It’s back! After a long hiatus, the KO Show will be back tonight, and the guests are WrestleMania opponents and FastLane partners (yes, still a weird match) Bianca Belair and Smackdown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks. Maybe this segment will be part of the build toward Mania and we’ll see some tension between the two, but odds are these two will get interrupted by Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax and some sort of brawl will ensue. My hope is Banks and Belair show some signs of tension that explodes next week at FastLane, but I’d be surprised if it does happen.

Big E Returns:

After being kayfabe injured by Apollo Crews, Big E makes his return tonight, and it’s safe to assume that we will see the start to some kind of program between the champ and the newly heel Apollo. Like I’ve said numerous times before, Apollo vs Big E is a great feud, and these two can put on a great match. If these two face off at FastLane, it could steal the show. To me, it’d be better for them to hold this off until WrestleMania and maybe add someone like Nakamura to the feud to make it an even better match. I love the dynamic in this feud, and can’t wait to see where Smackdown takes it.
