Kim and Kwon scored the goals in the second half to ensure a 6th successive win for the South Korea side across competitions.

The win ensured qualification to the WC Finals later this year as Korea remain 2nd in group A with 20 points and can displace Iran at the top with a win.

On the other hand, Iran beat UAE 1-0 in February earlier this year to pick up a 4th successive win in the Qualifiers.

Taremi’s first half effort proved to be the difference between the two sides as Iran remained top of the table with 22 points from 8 matches.

With both sides having two matches left, either will look to finish the qualifier campaign as group winners after confirming their status for the WC.

Both sides last met in October during the 1st leg of the qualifiers, where it finished 1-1 in Iran.

Prediction: South Korea 2-1 Iran

With the home support and relentless in-form players, we expect the Korean side to come out trumps here.

Iran celebrated long into the night after sealing a spot in Qatar but need to gather back and finish off on a high.

We see both sides taking some risks in order to finalize their best playing teams for the showpiece event.

Players to watch out for: Son, Song, Azmoun and Sayyadmanesh.
