Spain Euro 2020: Luis Enrique’s Spain would aim to win their 4th UEFA Euro title as La Roja get their preparations underway for the Euro 2020.

Spain was knocked out by Italy 2-0 in the Round of 16 of the 2016 tournament courtesy Chiellini and Pellè’s goals.

Spain announced their 24-men squad as Luis Enrique assured that every squad member would get game time.

Sergio Busquets leads La Roja in absence of Sergio Ramos while Koke serves as his deputy.

The squad is as follows:

Goalkeepers: David de Gea, Unai Simón, Robert Sánchez.

Defenders: José Gayà, Jordi Alba, Pau Torres, Aymeric Laporte, Eric Garcia, Diego Llorente, César Azpilicueta, Marcos Llorente.

Midfielders: Sergio Busquets (Captain), Rodri Hernández, Pedri, Thiago Alacántara, Koke (Vice captain), Fabián Ruiz.

Forwards: Dani Olmo, Mikel Oyarzabal, Gerard Moreno, Álvaro Morata, Ferran Torres, Adama Traoré, Pablo Sarabia.

The Spanish side have a good set of youngsters and experienced individuals at their disposal for the upcoming Euros.

Led By Busquets, the team has a number of match-winners in Oyarzabal, Olmo, Koke, Rodri.

Azpilicueta’s recent win in the UCL final gives him high confidence going into the tournament while Marcos won the La Liga recently for Atlético Madrid.

Moreno recently won the UEFA Europa League as well. Hence, the Spanish side have a number of trophy-winning players and would be a hard side to deal with.

As a result of consistent wins and trophies, the players would have the will to make their own way during a difficult situations.

The habit of winning will aid Enrique’s side’s success.

Fixtures

La Roja are in Group E alongside Poland, Slovakia and Sweden.

Their fixtures are as follows:

15th June: Spain vs Sweden (12:30 AM IST)

20th June: Spain vs Poland (12:30 AM IST)

23rd June: Slovakia vs Spain (09:30 PM IST).

Spain and Russia are the hosts for the matches of Group E. (Seville and Saint Petersburg)

Spain play two warm-up matches against Portugal and Lithuania on 4th and 9th June respectively before they get their tournament underway.
