Granit Xhaka captains the side with Xherdan Shaqiri acting as his deputy. The Swiss side’s 26-man squad for the competition is as follows:

Goalkeepers: Yan Sommer, Jonas Omlin, Gregor Kobel and Philipp Kohn

Defenders: Nico Elvedi, Manuel Akanji, Ricardo Rodriguez, Eray Cömert, Fabian Schar and Silvan Widmer

Midfielders: Fabian Frei, Remo Freuler, Granit Xhaka (C), Renato Steffan, Denis Zakaria, Djibril Sow, Michel Aebischer, Xherdan Shaqiri, Edimilson Fernandes, Ardon Jashari, Noah Okafor and Fabian Reider

Forwards: Breel Embolo, Haris Seferovic, Christian Fassnacht and Ruben Vargas

Switzerland hopes to move past the Round of 16 stage this time having stumbled at that point in the previous 2 editions of the FIFA World Cup.
