Oldest players at FIFA WC: The FIFA WC brings back its might and gloriousness in 2022 as 32-nations battle it out in Qatar for the ultimate prize.

The 2022 edition is set to see several players play their last ever FIFA World Cup and will be looking to end their campaigns on a high by getting home the elusive crown.

These players have been a part of the international circuit for several years, but with time and longevity catching up, moving on becomes the more practical approach.

Today, we look at the top 5 oldest players to participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Dani Alves

The Brazilian right back at the age of 39 was called up by Tite for the Qatar based event this season.

If Brazil manage to lift the trophy, Alves will be the oldest Brazilian player to pick up the ultimate prize.

Alves has won every possible trophy for the national side apart from the World Cup and his experience, in-depth detail about prevailing in pressure situations can help A Seleção win their 6th title.

Eiji Kawashima

At 39, Kawashima continues his journey with the Samurai Blue and will be part of the 2022 edition as well.

This is his 4th successive FIFA World Cup and will be hoping to spread his experience and help Japan repeat a similar achievement to 2002.

Japan is in a tough group alongside Costa Rica, Germany and Spain. Hence, his experience and quality are required in abundance if Japan is aiming for a place in the knockouts.

Talavera is their 2nd choice goalkeeper behind Ochoa but his 11-year experience and learnings will be vital for the CONCACAF side.

At 40, Talavera is the oldest player to be a part of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
