The Champions League group stage draw takes place in Istanbul, Turkey on 25th August at the Halic Congress Center.

When will the UCL Matchday 1-6 take Place?
The Champions League Matchday 1-6 takes place between 2nd September-6th November, 2022. Matchdays will be condensed into 8 weeks to allow for the winter World Cup in Qatar.

Teams are divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. Two teams from the same association cannot be drawn against each other in group stage
Teams that finish 3rd in each group move to the Europa League knockout stages automatically while the bottom placed teams go home empty-handed.
