The Reds finished 3rd in the Premier League campaign last season and were never in the race since the start of the season.
Poor performances coupled with a number of injuries to key players did not help their cause.
As a result, Liverpool eventually fell 17 points short off eventual champions, Manchester City.
They have made a number of recruits this season and will look to give them game time in these matches.
Konate is a sure contender to start these matches after he moved from Leipzig for £34 million.
On the other hand, Wacker Innsbruck has already played a friendly against Reichenau in the Austrian Cup on Friday, which they lost 8-0.
The Austrian based side had a decent campaign last season and finished 4th in the 2. Liga.
They too will look to get off to a positive start following the humiliation faced in the 8-0 loss.
Liverpool is expected to send out a number of players in Van Dijk, Gomez; who missed the chunk of last season.
Line-ups
Wacker Innsbruck:
Holz, Aydin, Gallé, Kochl, Martić, Knaller, Ronaivaldo, Fridrikas, Kopp, Joppich and Grujcic.
Liverpool:
Adrian, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Thaigo, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Salah, Mane and Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Prediction: Wacker Innsbruck 0-2 Liverpool
Liverpool should get the job done owing to their experienced campaigners and strong players on show.
A return for Van Dijk, Gomez will be one to watch as they come back after a heavy lay off.
