WWE News: Drew McIntyre and Sheamus still have some heat between us.
WWE News: On the way to WrestleMania, one of the rivalries that took the longest in the Monday Night Raw script was the one between Drew McIntyre and Sheamus. who however did not have a fight in the Great Event.
The rivalry that ended in the Fastlane PPV, with the Scot’s victory in a No Holds Barred match.
McIntyre spoke about this story in a talk with Busted Open Radio that Fightful collects. “Sheamus is my oldest friend I know from wrestling. We met when I was 19, we both had similar goals but we weren’t happy. We helped each other as we could ”, recalled the former world champion.

He recalled the times when his path was the same and when, at last, it was time to share a story. “We were identical souls, we even won championships the same night, like in TLC 2009.
And after 20 years of knowing each other, everything fell into place for a rivalry. I wish I had more time, but on television everything goes very fast. Still, I am very grateful, “said McIntyre.
He assured that one of the reasons why the rivalry triumphed was its physical component, especially because of their fight in Fastlane: “Nobody was going to have a fight as physical as the two of us. We had a lot of fun in the ring.
The best part was before the fight at Fastlane, when they aired a video summarizing our story. We saw it together and it was very emotional for both of us. “

In addition, that fight left more anecdotes, especially at the beginning. “I told him that we will apologize once the fight is over. As it turns out, when he started out, he hit me so hard, by accident, that he almost made me fall.
