WWE News: Drew McIntyre “It’s an opportunity to rebuild” after firing from WWE in 2014

WWE News: It was 2014 when Drew McIntyre was fired from WWE; the Scotsman’s career seemed in danger, but he, driven by his great passion for his work. As he was able to rebuild himself in the independent circuit and the doors of Stamford ended by reopening.

In 2017 McIntyre made his return to the federation and from then on his climb to the top was unstoppable. First the NXT title and then triumph at the 2020 Royal Rumble and twice the WWE Title.  In a recent interview, Drew talked about WWE’s recent layoffs saying that fired superstars need to see it as an opportunity.

“It’s an opportunity to rebuild”

Drew McIntyre found himself in the same situation as the many athletes who were recently fired from WWE find themselves today.

The Scotsman saw in his dismissal an opportunity to rebuild himself and his career and it can be said that he has fully succeeded. Today, in fact, he is one of the top stars of Vince McMahon’s federation.

Here are his words in an interview with International Business Times:“I saw it as a great opportunity. Most likely several of the fired superstars weren’t happy with their position, as I was.

Now they have the opportunity to rebuild and reinvent themselves. When I was fired, my goal was just that. I wanted to reconstruct my image for how I saw myself and not for how others saw me. Fortunately I did.

McIntyre qualifies for this year’s Money in the Bank

I have been given many opportunities outside of WWE and thanks to these the doors of Stamford have since reopened. I went back and made it to the top of the mountain.

Many of those recently laid off are very talented and can do what I have done. With work ethic and passion they will be able to rebuild themselves and one day even return to WWE as I did ” .
