WWE NXT TakeOver & Deliver Result: Lo Shirai, Championship match (08/04).

WWE NXT RESULTS & HIGHLIGHTS: We observed Io Shirai and Raquel Gonzales arriving at the CWC accompanied by Zoey Stark and Dakota Kai respectively.

Tommaso Ciampa joins Samoa Joe for an interview prior to his match against WALTER. The NXT UK Championship challenger clarifies being as excited as the night he faced Johnny Gargano in New Orleans. He reviews his entire journey so far, including the neck injury that may have ended his career and his transition as a parent. He feels that it will be a special night and he will show that he is a much more focused man than his rival.

In a second Samoa Joe interview, WALTER expresses his happiness to return to the United States to defend his title. He clarifies that the Tommaso Ciampa of two years ago is very similar to his current situation as a champion who will do everything to defend the gold. He values ​​him as one of the fiercest opponents of his career, but warns that nothing will stop him from continuing to reign. It ends by leaving open the possibility of continuing to defend the title between the United States and the United Kingdom.

Zoey Stark vs. Toni Storm

MSK are interviewed backstage . They clarify that tonight they will have the fight they have been waiting for since their victory in Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They warn that they will become the brightest team in the business by winning vacant tag team titles.

Raquel Gonzales is interviewed by Samoa Joe . The challenger to the NXT Women’s Championship is proud to represent this next step in her career. He recognizes the value of his rival and sees it as a mountain that no one has been able to cross until now. However, he feels at the peak of his career and warns that tonight will show that he can go against the best in the business.

Io Shirai responds to Samoa Joe in Japanese regarding her stint on NXT thus far and the great feat she accomplished by defeating Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair at In Your House. He admits that he chose Raquel Gonzales as his challenger for this TakeOver to give someone he considers a rising star a chance. She clarifies that, despite the pressure of being part of the main event, she will demonstrate why she is the best woman in the best women’s division.

NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver

Guitarist Nita Strauss performs America’s national anthem prior to the opening of NXT TakeOver.

Pete Dunne vs. Kushida
Kushida catches a jump from Dunne and places it on the mat for her Armbar. The two men go quickly to the keyhole on the canvas. The one from Japan seeks pressure on his arm, but his rival escapes and throws him over the ropes. The friction causes pain in Kushida, who receives several keys and blows from her rival before responding with a Dropkick. They wrestle on the steel ramp until Dunne receives a knee that returns him to the ring.

Following the USA Network commercial hiatus, Kushida receives a fierce stomp on the arm and escapes from an Armbar before knocking down her opponent. He manages to kick Dunne’s back over the ropes before launching himself to the mat while applying an Armbar. The Briton reaches the ropes and loses a chance of victory by placing his feet on the string. Pete breaks his opponent’s fingers and kicks before the Bitter End. 1 … 2 … 3 …

Gauntlet Eliminator match for an opportunity to the North American Championship
Leon Ruff vs. Isaiah “Swerve” Scott vs. Bronson Reed vs. Cameron Grimes vs. Dexter Lumis vs. LA Knight
Leon Ruff and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott start. Ruff is knocked down at ringside by Scott and the two trade attacks before the bell rings. Ruff gains the advantage but is overcome at ringside with a Dropkick over the barricade. He manages to get up for a Neckbreaker powered by the commentary table. Scott prepares a Powerbomb from the corner, but receives a Hurray high above.

Bronson Reed enters the ring. Ruff is confident and is thrown into the ring after a jump to the newcomer. Bronson takes it out on “Swerve” with a Suplex assisted by Ruff, but the latter does not escape being crushed by his huge opponent. Isaiah and Leon get a suplex together before the next inning. Cameron Grimes enters the ring  and surprises with a Moonsault followed by a Dropkick that knocks Reed out of the way. With a wad of bills he buys the help of “Swerve” and both take care of Ruff easily, Bronson fails to enter the ring and the pair dominate the fight.

Dexter Lumis enters the ring. “Swerve” is launched on Ruff and gets the first count of three of the night. Leon Ruff is eliminated. Lumis easily dominates all of her opponents and throws them into ringside before the last inning tonight.
LA Knight enters the ring with microphone in hand and tries to take down Bronson. Knight manages to overcome him after the commercial break and throws himself on his rivals. As Lumis tries to surrender Grimes, LA quickly irons him. Dexter Lumis is eliminated . Bronson is launched by surprise against the “Hottest Free Agent”. LA Knight is eliminated and receives Lumis’s surrender key at ringside. The three remaining men exchange blows with each other. Grimes swaps Roll-Ups with “Swerve”. Cameron Grimes is eliminated .

Reed looks for the jump from the third rope, but his rival intercepts him with a kick before sending him to the edge of the ring. 450 of “Scott”, but it is not enough. With three House of Cards not enough to stop Reed, who achieves his Reverse Piledriver followed by the Tsunami. 1 … 2 … 3 …

NXT UK Championship
WALTER vs. Tommaso Ciampa
Ciampa tries to bring down the champion without success. WALTER takes several hits before recovering and attacking Tommaso over the corner with a stomp to the neck. The Austrian damages his hand with the commentary table, allowing his opponent to land a few punches before responding in the corner. Ciampa fails to lift his rival, but attacks him with kicks to the arm.

A boot to the face stops the challenger and leaves him lying against the canvas. WALTER applies a flush lock to the canvas and applies a Suplex from behind the strings. Ciampa responds with blows to the chest before the USA calls the commercial pause.

Tommaso regains control and punishes his rival. Fairytale Ending! 1 … 2 … WALTER RISES UP! The champion receives a knee before responding with a Sleeper. Ciampa reaches the ropes, but receives a German Suplex followed by a Clotheslide. He goes for the Armbar on the holder, but he touches the ropes and separates pressing the face of his rival. The two men struggle on the ropes and Ciampa connects a Back Suplex from above. The constant exchange of blows precedes a piston to Tommaso’s neck followed by two Powerbombs. A German Suplex followed by a blow to the chest ends the fight in favor of the holder.
Winner and STILL NXT UK Champion: WALTER on account of three

IMPERIUM accompanies WALTER in his titular celebration. The champion is still sore in his hand as he leaves.

The little dog from last week reveals the name of the next addition to NXT. Franky Monet will hit the weekly show next Tuesday, April 13 .

NXT Tag Team Championships (vacant)
MSK (Wes Lee and Nash Carter) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (James Drake and Zack Gibson) vs. Legado del Fantasma (Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde)
Legado del Fantasma takes his rivals out of the way before Nash Carter enters the ring. Mendoza stops him and Drake takes the opportunity to get him out of the way. GYV hold the lead until Wes Lee takes over and takes it out on Drake. Legado recovers and Raul jumps on his rivals outside the ring. Double Coast to Coast of the Latinso on Nash before Zack suddenly seeks to stop them.

NXT Women’s Championship
Io Shirai vs. Raquel Gonzales (with Dakota Kai)
Shirai corners her opponent and gains the upper hand in the first moments of the fight. Gonzales goes to ringside and receives a jump from his rival. Dakota attempts an attack and is ejected from ringside. Io goes up to the ring, but is caught and thrown against the barricade. Raquel applies a Powerbomb before throwing the body of the champion on the string. Io receives a padlock on his back for several moments before escaping with a Hurracarrana followed by the Double Stomp. The one from Japan maintains control until Raquel takes her to the ground. Shirai goes for the neck lock before her challenger touches the ropes. Gonzales receives a jump from “The Genius in the Sky” followed by a knee to the head.

Io launches from the stage! The two women are lying on the ramp before returning to the ring. Shirai’s Moonsault over his rival. 1 … 2 … RAQUEL ZAFAES AND FLEES TO RINGSIDE! The champion receives a Chokeslam outside the ring and responds an Uppercut with her Lariat. Chokeslam on Shirai !. 1 … 2 … 3 …
