WWE Signs 20 years old Millie McKenzie, will join NXT UK

TalkSport reported on Tuesday that 20-year-old Millie McKenzie has signed with WWE and will be joining NXT UK. McKenzie previously wrestled for NXT UK three times in 2018, including two televised matches. She took part in the tournament to crown the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion, losing to Jinny in the first round. McKenzie & Xia Brookside also defeated Killer Kelly & Charlie Morgan on an NXT UK episode in 2018.

TalkSport’s report stated that WWE has high hopes for McKenzie and that McKenzie and fellow new WWE signee Meiko Satomura are set to be plugged in at the top of the card in NXT UK. Satomura made her NXT UK debut by defeating Isla Dawn on last week’s NXT UK episode. WWE is currently building to a match between Satomura and NXT UK Women’s Champion Kay Lee Ray.

McKenzie and Satomura have faced each other multiple times in the past and McKenzie has wrestled for Satomura’s Sendai Girls’ Pro Wrestling in Japan.

McKenzie participated in the #SpeakingOut movement in 2020, accusing Travis Banks of being in a mentally and emotionally abusive relationship with her when she was a 17-year-old trainee. Banks was released by WWE last June.

“It’s believed Banks being signed to the company was a central reason McKenzie did not sign sooner, but having seen WWE release Banks and several others as part of their efforts to address the movement, the young star from Coventry now feels comfortable working with WWE,” TalkSport wrote.

McKenzie vs. Mercedez Blaze is set for PROGRESS Wrestling Chapter 104: Natural Progression, which will premiere on the WWE Network this Saturday.
