WWE Smackdown Result: Live WWE SummerSlam Result & Highlight, Winner & Grade – 27th August 2021
WWE Smackdown Result: SmackDown kicks off with a video recap of Becky Lynch’s return on Saturday at SummerSlam. There “The Man” defeated Bianca Belair and won the SmackDown Womens Championship.
The SmackDown commentary team consisting of Michael Cole, Corey Graves & Kevin Owens greeted the audience. Cole mentions that he was talking to Pat McAfee (who has COVID-19) and is feeling better.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch heads to the ring to great cheers. A loud “BECKY” chant follows.
Becky is happy to be back in Little Rock and admits that she missed the fans. Becky explains that she gave up the title (Raw Womens Champion Title) some time ago for her new life, but she worked on her return every day – the audience applauds.
‘The Man’ turns her attention to SummerSlam and boos follow. Becky admits her tactics were devious and then apologizes for absolutely nothing. The boos get louder.
Bianca Belair interrupts Becky to great applause. An “EST” chant follows. Belair recalls that she risked the title every night while Becky was away. Because Belair accepted Becky’s challenge at the last minute, she is now demanding a rematch for the title tonight.
Zelina Vega comes out and makes fun of Belair for begging for a rematch. The fans chant “YOU S ** K”. Instead, Vega calls for a title match against Becky. Boos follow.
Carmella shows up and says Lynch should defend her title against the most beautiful woman in the WWE. Carmella only had an hour for her title match. In the meantime she could not do her hair or nails.
Liv Morgan interrupts Carmella to great applause. Morgan reminds that Zelina Vega and Carmella are dispatched every week. For this reason, Liv wants to get the title match. Carmella mocks Liv for sitting in the catering area for the past two months.
Belair has heard enough and is demanding their rematch for the title against Becky Lynch tonight. Becky declines her challenge and walks out of the ring. An in-ring brawl breaks out between Belair, Vega, Carmella and Morgan. Morgan holds his own and stays in the ring.
In the next video the new multicolored NXT logo will be presented. The clip ends with the note: “Coming”.

Backstage: Kayla Braxton is with Paul Heyman and wants to know how he feels about Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar. Heyman claims he is in the same position as his “Tribal Chief”. Heyman tries to enter Reigns’ locker room, but the door is locked.
Video recap: Roman Reigns defeated John Cena at SummerSlam last Saturday. After that, Brock Lesnar returned and knocked Cena down with an F5.

Backstage: Paul Heyman is still standing in front of the Reigns locker room. The Usos come out and tell Heyman that Reigns hasn’t arrived yet. Both want to know from Heyman if he knew Lesnar was returning to SummerSlam. Heyman denies this. The Usos think it’s strange that Heyman sent them to the backstage area at SummerSlam. Heyman says Reigns made that decision. Jimmy & Jey remain skeptical.
2nd match
Cesaro defeated Chad Gable (w / Otis) by DQ after Otis intervened and attacked Cesaro as he swung
After the match: A clothesline / German suplex combination of the heels against Cesaro follows. Then Otis shows the Second Rope Splash on Cesaro.
Kayla Braxton stands outside waiting for Roman Reigns to arrive. We see the arrival of a vehicle. However, this is Baron Corbin. He had great success in Las Vegas. He’s doing very well now and his looks have also changed. Braxton is supposed to call him “Happy Corbin”.

In-ring: Happy Corbin segment
“Happy Corbin” enters the ring under a new entrance theme. He is extremely happy and can’t stop smiling. Corbin recaps all of his recent problems, but is fine now. He claims he is the happiest man in the world.
A video shows how he lost to Big E at SummerSlam and only had $ 35 left, but suddenly Corbin’s luck turned and he won a lot of money in a casino.
Back in the ring: the audience boos. Corbin brags about his clothes, his new Bentley and his wife, who has contacted him again. Corbin tells Big E to come out.
Big E gets great reactions from the fans when he walks into the ring. Corbin wants to sort things out with Big E and buy the Money in the Bank suitcase for $ 20,000.
The fans booed Corbin and Big E refuses the offer. Corbin then increases his offer to $ 50,000. Big E refuses again. Corbin notes that Big E will likely fail if he should cash in the suitcase. E replies that Corbin lost when he tried to cash in. Corbin offers Big E $ 100,000. Big E thinks and declines a third time.

He tells Corbin that he’s more likely to spend the money on a half-eaten sandwich, pencil, or Arkansas Razorback plush toy. Big E has then heard enough from Corbin and threatens to knock him out, but Corbin doesn’t let anything get him down and happily walks away.

Earlier Today Video: Edge Talks About Beating Seth Rollins. He had to go to a dark place for that, but now he can focus on winning the Universal title.

Backstage: Seth Rollins congratulates Edge on his win. For that he gets his full respect. However, Rollins also wants a chance at the Universal title and may have to become more like Edge to win the title.
Backstage: Roman Reigns is there and Heyman is waiting for the Tribal Chief with his head down. Heyman tries to shake his hand, but Reigns asks if he needs to open his own doors now. Heyman then opened the door to his “Tribal Chief”.
3rd match
Tag team match
Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs defeated Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode after Boogs’ Pump Handle Slam against Ziggler – during the match a pop-up video was played by Apollo Crews (w / Commander Azeez), Crews announced that they were going to retake their title from Nakamura.
Backstage: Naomi speaks to Sonya Deville and is happy to be back in the SmackDown Brand. Naomi wants to get a first match. Deville is surprised because she did not notice that Naomi is now on SmackDown. Deville suspects that Adam Pearce made the deal behind her back. Naomi tries to talk about her achievements, but Deville shows no interest. Deville concludes by telling Naomi that she needs to think it over first.
Backstage: Rey Mysterio is talking to Dominik. He thinks that it is now time to let his son go so that he can become successful on his own. Rey had just spoken to Pearce and Dominik got a match, but he doesn’t know which opponent his son will face.
4th match
Sami Zayn defeated Dominik Mysterio after the Helluva Kick – Rey Mysterio came out during the match and followed the argument directly on the ring
After the match: Rey tries to talk to Dominik, but Dominik pushes his father away and walks away.
Backstage: The Usos can’t wait for Roman Reigns’ championship celebration. Heyman himself doesn’t want to attend because it’s a family celebration. Reigns describes Heyman as a wise man. However, he should take part, since he also belongs to the family.
In-ring: Championship celebration Roman Reigns
Reigns, Heyman and The Usos step into the ring as the audience boo their heels. Reigns holds up the microphone but does not comment. The fans then booed him again. Reigns hands Heyman the microphone and whispers something to him.
Heyman informs fans that Reigns allows them to recognize their “Tribal Chief”. Reigns whispers something to Heyman again. Heyman praises The Usos. Heyman recalls that he predicted Roman Reigns’ victory over John Cena.
Suddenly the music of Finn Bálor can be heard. The Irish wrestler makes his way to the ring. Bálor claims that he was cheated out of his title chance at SummerSlam. Therefore, he will deal with Cena at some point. Bálor would challenge Reigns to a title match at WWE Extreme Rules, but since he doesn’t trust anyone nor will he stand in line, he challenges Reigns to a WWE Universal Championship match at SmackDown next week. The audience cheers Bálor.
Bálor throws away his microphone and attacks Reigns. Then the heels beat Bálor until The Street Profits storm into the ring and make the save, while Reigns slowly withdraws.
Bálor shows the Coup de Grace on Jimmy Uso in front of Reigns. SmackDown ends with a comment from Michael Cole, who wondered if Reigns would accept Bálor’s challenge for next week.
