WWE SummerSlam 2022: WWE to celebrate SummerSlam 2022 in United Kingdom

WWE SummerSlam 2022: WWE could return to Europe in a big way in 2022. English outlet whatculture recently reported that the sports-entertainment company wanted to host a big pay-per-view event next year. However, not many details were given about it.

As reported by TalkSport in recent hours, WWE would be studying the possibility of holding SummerSlam at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales (United Kingdom), a stadium with a capacity of around 74,000 spectators.

WWE officials contacted the Welsh authorities last week during the latest UK tour. This would also explain why WWE returns in November.

What does the sources say

“Cardiff’s Principality Stadium is a SummerSlam favorite in the UK next year,” wrote Alex McCarthy. “The meetings were held during the tour last week and great progress was made in hosting a WWE UK PPV.”

“The retractable roof is believed to be an attractive feature. The venue can hold 74,500 people, Anthony Joshua fought in front of 78,000 when he fought Carlos Takam in 2017, but it would be with a design more tied to wrestling.

Sources tell him to talkSPORT that although it is WWE’s preferred venue, nothing is final at this point. It is even possible that WWE will put on a show at a stadium in the UK other than SummerSlam. Either way, plans for a WWE PPV in the UK they look ‘very positive’ after last week. ”

2022 will celebrate 30 years since SummerSlam took place in Europe; in 1992 Wembley Stadium (London) was able to enjoy the event.

Logic suggests that WWE wants to honor the 30th anniversary of this event at the same location. At that show, about 80,000 people turned out to see the WWE Superstars live.
