WWE Wrestlemania Backlash: Drew McIntyre earns WWE Championship spot, face Bobby Lashley.

WWE road to Backlash set to take place on 16th May, with one match confirmed as of now. WWE Backlash will air on Sunday, May 16th. WWE Monday Night RAW witnessed a contest for the No.1 Contender for WWE Championship at WWE Backlash.

Drew McIntyre addressed the WWE Universe and told MVP that he would eventually get his rematch. Drew lost his shot at the WWE Championship on Wrestlemania 37th against Bobby Lashley. Bobby Lashley used the MVP induced distraction on Drew as a weapon at the Wrestlemania.

Drew challenged Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at Backlash but he wouldn’t get his rematch so easily. Unexpectedly, Braun Strowman made an entrance and added to the challenge. This was still not enough, which is why the Viper Randy Orton appeared and asked for a shot too.

This heated discussion made it too easy for Adam Pierce to smooth things out. Adam Pierce gave the trio a Triple Threat Match at RAW for the No.1 Contender at Backlash. The winner of the match would face Bobby Lashley at WWE Backlash for the WWE Championship.

Braun Strowman owned the match through and through. The match also witnessed the use of steel steps by Strowman onto both the superstars. After Randy Orton capitalized onto Strowman, Orton looked like the winner.

This is when, Drew McIntyre appeared out of nowhere and landed his finisher onto Randy Orton. Drew McIntyre then won the match and finally got his rematch at WWE Backlash.
