England 6-2 Iran: Bukayo Saka at the double as England hammer Iran 6-2 in their opening match of Group B in the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Monday.
Bellingham, Sterling, Rashford and Grealish added to the Arsenal lad’s goals to ensure a comfortable start to proceedings at Khalifa International Stadium. Taremi was at the double for Iran with nothing less than consolation efforts.

FIRST HALF
England began the half in a quick manner as the Three Lions controlled possession against Team Melli.
There was an early injury concern for Iran, as their goalkeeper was subbed off due to clash of heads with his defensive team-mate.
The Three Lions pressure continued and were rewarded for the same as Bellingham headed home his debut goal from Shaw’s cross to make it 1-0.
There could not be a bigger stage for him, as he began the second youngster scorer for England in the World Cup after Owen.
Maguire, who had a header hit the crossbar earlier set up Saka for 2-0 as the Arsenal winger struck a volley to double their advantage.
Sterling struck for 3-0 when he lashed home from Kane’s sumptuous cross to end the half comfortably.
SECOND HALF
Saka doubled his tally for the night as he took advantage of Iran’s poor clearance to curl home from close range for four.
Taremi managed to pull one back for Team Melli as he ran off Maguire to collect the ball before firing home.
Rashford made it five within seconds off coming on a substitute as he slid the ball past Hosseini into the far bottom corner.
The Manchester United lad turned assist-maker for Grealish to make it six as he lay it out on a plate for the Man City lad to slot home comfortably. A late penalty from Taremi after a foul by Stones finished off the game.
