FIFA World Cup 2022: Kane and Saka star in England ‘s 6-2 hammering of Iran in their Group B opener at Khalifa International Stadium


England 6-2 Iran: Bukayo Saka at the double as England hammer Iran 6-2 in their opening match of Group B in the FIFA World Cup 2022 on Monday.

Bellingham, Sterling, Rashford and Grealish added to the Arsenal lad’s goals to ensure a comfortable start to proceedings at Khalifa International Stadium. Taremi was at the double for Iran with nothing less than consolation efforts.

FIRST HALF

England began the half in a quick manner as the Three Lions controlled possession against Team Melli.

Sterling struck for 3-0 when he lashed home from Kane’s sumptuous cross to end the half comfortably.

SECOND HALF

Saka doubled his tally for the night as he took advantage of Iran’s poor clearance to curl home from close range for four.

Taremi managed to pull one back for Team Melli as he ran off Maguire to collect the ball before firing home.
