FIFA WC 2022 Rules: The FIFA WC 2022 began yesterday in Qatar, with several rules and restrictions required to be followed in the Arab Nation.
It is a first World Cup to be held in the Arab nation and a first to be played in mid-season.
Despite the hype surrounding any World Cup, this one has rather seen controversies before the tournament even began.
We look at some of the rules and provide a brief on how it’s affecting the FIFA World Cup 2022.
LGBTQ Laws
The world is one in terms of football and otherwise but this does not find a place in Qatar due to their stringent rules on homosexuality.
LGBTQ laws are rigorous in the Arab nation having several fines and punishments inflicted on engagement of it. Despite strong disagreement, Qatar has informed that they will not change the laws for the audience.

Beer Sale Ban
Although beer and alcohol is available at fans parks during the tournament, there is a complete ban on the sale of alcohol inside the stadium.
Beer consumption is a regular activity during a competition of this magnitude but not in Qatar.

Migrant Workers affected

It has been reported that many Migrant workers lost their lives during the construction of the stadium due to the poor living conditions and low-wages provided.
Every team during their practice sessions were ensuring that the migrant workers get a chance to play against them to keep them happy and uplifted.

Covid Report required or not?
No quarantine or Covid-19 test is required after arrival. This is a major relief for fans coming in huge numbers for the competition.
However, if one tests positive; he/she needs to isolate for the required days depending on the severity.
No Masks are required to be worn in the Stadium’s but need to be worn in healthcare facilities.
Clothing for Females
The strict laws for female fans and visitors require them to wear such clothes that covers their knees and shoulders.
There was controversy yesterday post the 1st match of the competition as there was a mass exodus by the 55th minute.
Many fans were seen leaving the stadium early, which made the opener a damp squib.
