The Euro 2024 is the next major event for England to try and get their hands on silverware post 1966, but will be a tough ask.

England’s squad have the quality and talent to ensure a positive approach to the competition and maybe go all the way.

Southgate has shown enough trust and should not be removed this near to the tournament as it can have a drastic effect.

A change now could see a change in system which could be detrimental for the Three Lions squad.

They just need a little calming and more spirit assembled as they have the tenaciousness, grit to achieve success.

Good record

ImageSouthgate’s tactics may not be the most pleasing for all but he does have a good record as England boss.

Despite the bad performances in the UEFA Nations League recently, Southgate was the first manager to take England to a major competition Final in Euro 2020.

England also reached the Quarter-Final stage of the WC 2022 before their loss to France.

Southgate has been at the helm for 6 years and has won 51 out of 81 matches as manager alongside 15 draws and losses each.

This is not a record worth dismissing from Gareth and he has proven at the helm that England are improving.

Under his helm, England secured a 3rd place finish in the UEFA Nations League 2019 and a 4th place at the WC 2018 in Russia.

Despite the loss to Les Bleus, England’s side showed bravery in going toe-to-toe with the defending champions.

France was expected to beat England before the clash as per many experts, but it was far from easy for the French side.

England showed plenty character and bravery under Southgate in this effort. Kane’s penalty miss was the game-changer as France held on.

But the Three Lions’ performance was inspiring and showed why Southgate deserves to stay.

Southgate has built this side by getting in players like Foden, Rice, Bellingham and is a huge support for them.

These youngsters require the guidance of Gareth as they are still at the early stage of careers.
