Goals conceded in WC 2022: The FIFA World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals are in place with Argentina-Croatia and France-Morocco set to battle it out.

World Cup 2022 has seen it all from big wins to massive upsets, as many teams have risen from their shells to make an impact in Qatar.

To reach the semi-finals, defence is a main criteria as lesser goals conceded gives the side an edge over the others apart from striking the net.

Without further ado, we look at the total goals conceded by the WC 2022 semi-finalists so far.

Argentina

Argentina’s Emi Martinez has managed 2 clean-sheets and 2 saves so far from the 5 matches played so far having conceded 5 goals in the tournament.

Crucial saves vs Mexico before a last-minute effort blocked vs Australia in the Round of 16 saw Argentina through.

France

ImageHugo Lloris has conceded 5 goals in the tournament so far without a single clean-sheet.

France’s attack may have been on song but the defence has not been at its best so far. Critical lapses have seen Les Bleus’ back 4 put the side under pressure.

Lloris pulled off some stunning saves vs England in the Quarter-Final on Sunday to keep his side alive. The keeper has made 8 saves in total.

The French side are eyeing successive WC triumphs and their captain, keeper in Lloris may have a big say in the remaining matches.

Croatia

ImageLivakovic has let in 3 goals during the competition so far with 2 clean-sheets.

The Dinamo Zagreb has made a whopping 23 saves so far which has helped Croatia stay alive.

Livakovic’s clean-sheets came up vs Morocco and Belgium respectively in the goalless draws.

Morocco’s Bounou has endured a brilliant WC so far with 4 clean-sheets to his name.

Bounou has managed to concede just 1 goal in the entire competition; being Aguerd’s own goal for Canada.

Bounou has made 5 saves in the WC and been Morocco’s shining light. When the pressure has increased, he has upped his game.

The Sevilla goalkeeper was at his supreme best when he saved 3 penalties off Spain in the shootout during the Round of 16.
