Most expensive EPL signings: The Premier League is known for its competitiveness, fast paced football and wide recognition across the world.

From broadcasting rights to sponsorship deals, the moolah is the most captivating factor with many of these deals being very expensive.

Due to the same, the transfer market is always hyped up and clubs are willing to break the bank to bring the best talent to England.

Ten Hag’s arrival at the club before Anthony’s public announcement of wanting a move made this a certainty.

United’s issues with a right-winger were creeping up since a few seasons and Ten Hag felt the youngster fit the bill.

Hence, he ensured the club broke the bank for him in the Summer Window.

After a few missed attempts, United eventually had their man. It hasn’t been a rosy start to the Premier League for the Brazilian, but he is expected to fall into place soon.

The Frenchman was a part of United’s youth academy before departing for Juventus for more-game time in 2012.

In his 4-year spell in Turin, Pogba became one of Juve’s most important players as he shone in the free role.

During the 2015/16 season, he finished with 8 goals and 12 assists; which made United break the bank for him.

He left as a free agent and returned to the club in 2016 for €105M.

The showman wasn’t able to replicate his form on return to the EPL as he spent an inconsistent six-years at the club before moving back to Italy in 2022.

Lukaku had a brilliant goal-scoring dual season from 2019-21 in Italy; which made Chelsea hope to get the striker to London where he played earlier.

Romelu had stints with Chelsea earlier but was not in his element. This time the Belgian returned with hopes of doing better.

But in his first season on return, he scored a meagre 8 goals in 26 EPL appearances before going to Inter on loan in the summer of 2022.

Manchester City broke the bank in the summer of 2021 when they brought Jack Grealish for a €117.5M from Aston Villa.

The Englishman did not have the best first season with City but contributed to a first Premier League title.

Guardiola and City were known to invest plenty in players during earlier seasons but none were this expensive.

Pep was determined to get the young Aston Villa player on board and after a disappointing season; Grealish sealed a move to Man City.

The day finally became on dead-line day last night as Enzo Fernandez secured a €120M to Chelsea from Benfica.

With that, he became the most expensive EPL signing in the history of the competition.

After a successful World Cup winning campaign; it was only a matter of time before Enzo was on top of the charts.

The WC 2022 Young Player of the competition awardee was always on the lookout for Chelsea as they had earlier bids rejected by Benfica.
