5 milestones achieved in Manchester United’s Carabao Cup triumph
Man United champions: It was a night of celebration as Man United beat Newcastle to lift the Carabao Cup in Sunday’s final over Newcastle.
United triumphed 2-0 with goals from Casemiro and Botman (og) to ensure a 1st trophy in 6 years and their 6th ever Carabao Cup title.
The Red Devils put on a clinical performance of desire and determination to end ten Hag’s 7th month as a manager with a title.
Such has been the transformation from United under Erik Ten Hag, where they haven’t looked back and are more than ready for next challenges.

It has been trouble times in the red half of Manchester United since 2017, when they last won a title.

Last night’s Carabao Cup triumph was their 1st title since that one and has certainly put the doom of being trophyless behind them.
This was also United’s 6th Carabao Cup title, making them the 3rd team behind Liverpool and Manchester City with most titles.

Erik Ten Hag was given the job of taking United back to the upper echelons of English football and did not get off to the best of starts.
After losing first 2 league matches, things did not look pretty for the Dutch manager. But come February, Erik Ten Hag has galvanized and turned fortunes around with the league Cup triumph last night.

Erik Ten Hag became the 1st Dutch manager to win the League Cup in the competition’s history.
De Gea Clean Sheets

David De Gea with a clean-sheet in the final registered his 181st clean-sheet for the club.
This made him the outright number 1 goalkeeper with the most clean-sheets in the club’s history. The record was held by Peter Schmeichel previously (180).
Most wins at Wembley

Manchester United won their 24th match at the iconic Wembley across competitions.
With that, the club has registered most wins at the ground when only counting games played here as a neutral venue.
Most domestic titles
Manchester United won their 18th domestic title with last night’s Carabao Cup win. This took them ahead of Liverpool (17) to hold the record for most domestic trophies in the land.
United are also within one trophy of matching Liverpool’s tally of 68 trophies won across competitions. Erik Ten Hag’s men are still in with a shout in all relevant competitions this season.
