Serie A Champions 2021-22: it was a celebratory night for AC Milan as the Rossoneri picked up their first Serie A title after 11 years yesterday.

It was a convincing 3-0 away win over Sassuolo led by a brace from Giroud and completed by Kessié as AC Milan registered their first Scudetto since 2011 .

A first win over Sassuolo at the third time of asking was enough to see Milan crowned Serie A champions 2021-22, leading to euphoria and bedlam.

Milan had to win their final league match to confirm their champion status and they did not disappoint their fans one bit.

The visitors took a 3-0 half time with all assists coming from Rafael Leao to ensure Pioli was within touching distance of his first title.

It was another huge night for two individuals in particular, who have been integral to Milan’s success this season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Olivier Giroud played a massive part in AC Milan’s rise to the top as the strike force registered a combined 19 goals.

The French and Swedish strikers did not make a lasting impression in terms of number of goals but were part of crucial moments which helped Milan the distance.

If Zlatan did not strike, Giroud would as the two were a force to reckon with for oppositions. AC Milan scored a total of 69 goals in the season which was the fourth most in the campaign behind Inter, Lazio and Napoli.

Meaningful contributions from Rafael Leao and Kessié; who formed a presence of strength along the wing and midfield respectively also helped their charge. Leao and Kessié scored 11 and 6 goals individually but alongside pulled the strings for Milan.

The Frenchman was the whole and soul of AC Milan this season with 5 goals and 6 assists from 32 matches.

Theo was almost on queue in every match as he controlled the defence and also moved along the left flank to create pressure.

AC Milan finished the season with least goals conceded (31) alongside Napoli to boast off yet another reason why they were champions.

Mike Maignan; who made the move from Lille in the summer to Italy ended his season on the highest of highs as he collected the Golden Glove with 17 clean-sheets.

It was an all-round team display from the AC Milan players as they celebrated long into the night with their first title in more than a decade.
